Rockscapes, 2026
My newest body of work, after experiencing the Altadena fires and moving to the desert, examines the altered skyscapes and landscapes of Joshua Tree, reimagining the desert’s iconic formations as sites of transformation and layered meanings. These works move beyond representation, reshaping images to reveal the rocks as both ancient witnesses and mutable forms, alive with metaphor; allowing the stone surfaces to echo with qualities of skin, bone, and celestial matter.
